Joe Mauer has developed a routine for home night (7:05pm) games. He will wake up at 7:30am eat a hearty breakfast of three sunny-side up eggs, four slices of bacon, diced up fruit (5 strawberries, 1 banana and handful of blueberries), two slices of toast with peanut butter (chunky JIF peanut butter) and a glass each of 2% Milk and Orange Juice. Mauer will then travel over to Target Field's media room for Twins players to check out video of his swing from the previous night and quick clip of today's starting pitcher. He will then retire to the training room at 3pm to have his back and knees warmed up with heating packs. At 3:30 he will take the field to start to run, stretch and throw. Mauer will take Batting Practice at 4:15 taking 6 rounds to prepare for the game, after BP he will go under to the cage and hit off tee for 15 minutes. Following hitting Mauer will go to the locker room to get dressed and grab a bit to eat of a ham and turkey sandwich. At 6:30 Mauer will head out to the bullpen to catch today's starting Twins pitcher. Following the end of the game Mauer likes to spend 20 minutes outside the players entrance to sign autographs for fans. At home he will finish the night spending time with wife eating one of Mauer's favorite burgers a Jucy Lucy from Matt's Bar.

Scouting Reports
Scouting has become an integral part of baseball over the years not only of the teams own players but that of the opposition. Information about opposing players is beneficial for the starting pitcher to know what pitch to throw and location to throw the pitch to get the hitter out. The position players and coaches benefit from the scouting as well knowing where to position on the field for each individual hitter gives you a greater chance to record the out and win the game. Why pay money to have someone go to every game to scout opposing players, let the staff at Mauer Mania do the dirty work and prepare the scouting report. At Mauer Mania we will be able to provide information on hitters and pitchers around the league. Right now we have scouting reports available on Joe Mauer of the Minnesota Twins. The Scouting Report on Mauer and all hitters will be include:
Contact Mitchell Feller at mitchfeller@mauermania.com for these detailed scouting reports

- count in which the ball was put in play or out recorded
- time running to base
- side notes to discuss observations on the swing that day.

Joe Mauer Might Really Have Super Powers
They real answer that everyone in the game of baseball is searching
for is how can I constantly preform like Joe Mauer!
Well the secret is out, and it is simple. Never eat any
Indian food before a game. When asked about how he found this secret he reversed
the question and said, “How many Indians do you see hitting .330 in the MLB?” Well
said Joe…
Joe has released to us that he is not only no longer eating Indian food before games, but he sometimes does not eat for weeks at a time.
For Joe it is no longer just a figure of speech that he is ‘hungry at the plate.' With a special diet plan designed by renowned Chinese dietitian, Won Won-Ton,
he is able to eat sometimes only 5 meals a months.
Yes, you are all right, this is not healthy for the average
person. Joe Mauer is not average. Joe recently told us that he makes this
possible because he does not store his extra food as fat, he stores them as
Pro-Vitamerials. Pro-Vitamerials have been found only in Joe and are currently
being studied by the University of Minnesota, but little information is known
about them.
Pro-Vitamerials are created in Joe once he starts eating by
turning standard nutrients into Mauertrients. The Mauertrients are them
transformed into the super nutrient, Pro-Vitamerial, though a process similar to photosynthesis.
Lets hope Joe's diet keeps working for him as he faces the Angles again tomorrow.
More information about Joe’s nutritional super power will
soon to be released.

Mauer Brings Chemistry
Hey Mauer Maniacs!
Last night, 4/15/13, Joe Mauer hit his 2nd home
run of the year. Joe went 4 for 5 and is now leading the team with a .346
average. On the 15th of April the Twins took down the powerful
Angels.
The twins who were expected to be last in the central division
have benefited from Mauers great play behind the plate has the pitching staff
throwing well, and as expected he is leading the twins in hits. Last season Joe
moved from catcher, to first base, to DH throughout the year and was never able
to get in a rhythm. This season Joe is set on catching much more. In a quote
from Joe he says, “I've been preparing is catching every day."
Mauer has been able to build a strong connection with this year’s
newly rebuilt pitching staff. One knew pitcher is Kevin Correia, Correia has become
great friends with Joe over there first few months together and his on field
performance is showing the chemistry. Correia has been the Twins most constant
starter all year with an ERA of 2.95 in 3 starts.
When Joe is in the lineup he has had a positive effect of
both the offense and defensive side of the ball.
Mauer Swing Breakdown
Joe Mauer since the day he has stepped out of the Twins dugout the first time has been dominating opposition's pitchers. A career .323 hitter over a 10 year career which includes 3 American League Batting Titles along with the American League MVP in 2009. Mauer's swing is a swing that many marvel at and even more try to replicate. No two swings are identical in baseball and Mauer's swing can be categorized as controlled aggressive. This means it is tough to beat him no matter what count he is in. Mauer has been able to develop a solid approach where he is going to hit his pitch even if that means he gets two strikes on him. His eye for the strike zone is better than anyone in the league and his swing is short to the ball designed to hit gap to gap.
Mauer's swing analyzed: Mauer does not waste any movement, he has sound "quiet" hitting mechanics. In Mauer's load he does not move a lot of weight back onto his back leg, do not mistake this as he is not getting a load for him to drive the ball. His stride is smooth and balanced moving forward that his head does not move allowing him to stay focused on the baseball at all times. Mauer's hips start his lower half before his stride foot lands, although he is starting his lower half he continues to keep his hands back allowing for more time to discern what the pitch is and where it is located. When his stride foot lands he will begin to open his hips up and start his hands to the ball. At point of contact his arms are still bent and it is not only till after contact that he will get into the power V position extending through the baseball allowing him to have a long bat path through the zone, this allows him a greater chance to hit the ball if his timing is slightly off and more power at contact.

Joe Mauer has become successful on and off the field. From
his game winning plays, to his head and shoulders commercials Joe has become
eye candy for female Twins fans. If his impressive baseball skills were not
enough he hits a home run with his chiseled face and beautiful eyes. Who would not want a man who is a
professional athlete? Even though he receives a lot of attention from women,
Joe has kept it cool and finally found Mrs. Mauer.
Besides being a piece of eye candy, Mauer is MLB worthy by being
the first draft pick in 2001, he was only eighteen years old then.
Joe has also appeared on the cover of Sports Illustrated twice. Although he
was a first round draft pick in 2001, Joe was considered a better football
player than baseball player in high school. Even though Joe did not choose to play
football, he has excelled as a professional baseball player.
For Our Female Mauer Fans
Mauer Mania will now create posts that provide news and
entertainment for female viewers. Not
only will we post interesting stories, and fun facts about Joe Mauer, but our
female viewers will be able enter contests to win shirts and other Twins
apparel signed by Joe himself. So ladies get ready! Our contest will be
starting April 22.
In recent news, the Minnesota all-star has recently
announced that he and his wife, Maddie, are expecting twins. How’s that for
ironic? That is right Mauer plays for the Minnesota Twins and he is now
expecting twins of his own. Apparently Mauer and his wife went to high school
together and there have been rumors that Maddie is in it for the money. It
seems that Maddie has been chasing him since high school and Mauer finally
decided to settle down. Many female Mauer fans may be disappointed by the fact
that they are not “Mrs. Mauer”, but at least Mauer can be viewed on ESPN during
games or in his commercial. Who does not enjoy his head and shoulders shampoo
commercial? And who can resist the
picture of Mauer holding a kitten?
Why is Joe Mauer so attractive? Well Mauer seems so
attractive because most of his teammates are late thirties, or early forties.
Most women are not attracted to older men.
Whenever Joe does well in a game or makes a good play it only makes him
more attractive. The older his teammates are the more attractive it Mauer will be. Mauer is also attractive because of his personality and his talent.
Our next post will include more details about the upcoming contests and some interesting facts about Joe.:
